Remember, it’s YouTube so the quality may differ but enjoy the show!

After a long wait,The Pinoy Classic Rockers all over the world celebrate the success of Arnel Pineda as the greatest achievement of all time in the Pinoy Rock history. Owe it to the technology we have today ,and the talent of the the Filipinos, plus the big heart of the The Journey Band. Kudos to the Fil-American Fusion. Our faith to the American Rock and Roll Culture paid off.

Congratulations to Arnel and to the rest of Journey for a wonderful performance indeed! Thank you Chileans for giving Arnel such a warm welcome. It was deeply felt just by watching everybody enjoying themselves. I personally briefly met the guy back here in U.S.A. and I must say he is very humble, warm-hearted, and all he wants is to make everyone happy. And judging by people’s reaction Arnel had succeeded!!!Thank you very much for making it happen for him..

March 10, 2008 at 4:48 pm
I’m sold forever!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 10, 2008 at 5:07 pm
Saw them in Planet Holly in Vegas … Great concert - although I noticed that he needs to conserve his voice from their grueling repertoire - although it’s great to hear Dean Castronovo take on a couple of songs while Arnel recoops … Arnel was not going for the high notes in the last few songs they sang … he also went off key in one of the last songs - I think that’s why they had to re-do a couple of songs in the end after the show - they had to call the people to come back in as they were recording this for the DVD release … but overall it was a blast!! The new songs were not so popular yet for many of the audience as they try to absorb it for the first time but the song “Wildest Dreams” should be a kick ass hit!! Can’t wait for the disks to come out in a few months …
As for me, I also liked SA but never really liked Sotto - saw some of Sotto’s vids with Journey and personally, he can’t really hit those notes and mostly made a mockery of himself - SA was more refined but lacked power though . . . But AP has the range and power BUT NEEDS MORE STAMINA . . and I think Journey will be more successful this time again!!
ROCK ON JOURNEY - ROCK ON ARNEL . . .
March 10, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Most of the Badjaos went to Vegas to see Arnel. He was awesome … what a great band Journey! The young and the old had a blast. Bert de Leon, very unassuming guy, thanks for the picture. Ross Valory was generous with having a picture with me, that was nice of him. I will share/post these pictures soon. More power Arnel-Journey!
March 11, 2008 at 3:11 am
Great performances Chile, Las Vegas what’s next…AP you hit big time I salute you. Can’t wait to get copy of new album release..Wish I could see JOURNEY again in WARFIELD - SFO ..Cheers

March 11, 2008 at 10:19 am
TONY,
LOL… youre drooling of envy ….. go jump over the cliff.. Loser!
March 12, 2008 at 11:55 am
Arnel is a very talented guy, however, Journey could have done better. There is a guy out of Edmond, OK that has the same range and quality as Perry but yet totally different sound and a better performer. I wish they would have kept looking, but Arnel still has a great voice.
March 14, 2008 at 11:25 pm
sometimes i get totally sucked in to the performance, but others i feel like i am watching journey do a karaoke of itself. not totally sold on the new singer, but he obviously has potential. but hey, i’m interested. that’s better than SA or JSS!
March 17, 2008 at 11:29 pm
Congratulation Kapatid…Mabuhay ka
and proud to be a kababayan…
March 19, 2008 at 10:34 pm
THIS IS NOW MY JOURNEY — INTO THE FUTURE…. CAN’T WAIT THEIR NEW ALBUM….I’M FOREVER YOURS….FAITHFULLY.
March 22, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Wish people would just stop comparing, why can’t they just accept the reality of it that this Arnel Pineda is indeed the real deal and is one hell of an awesome singer(check out his vocal range diversity on YouTube where he can even sing “Heart” and “Led Zeppelin” songs, not too many singers can do that and WELL!)! Come to think of it, a pro like Neal Schon would not have pick a half-ass singer at all, I’m sure he gave it a lot of thought and Arnel just happened to one hell of a lucky guy! More power to him!
March 23, 2008 at 10:54 pm
I was so amazed to these guys talent. I can’t stop watching their show. I recommended to all may friends to watch filipino and canadian. Arnel story is everyone dreams… I was impressed that he is so humble, I hope that he will keep believing and more power to him and his band… Good luck..
March 24, 2008 at 4:36 pm
I’m so proud of Arnel. While reading all these comments I had tears on my eyes. I can’t wait the new CD’s to come out. I’m Journey’s fan but I love Journey even more because of Arnel. God bless Journey and Arnel.

His wife flow hin to Vegas and they watched Journey concert as a gift to his Birthday. Jones called KNBR and talk about Arnel and amazed how he sings in the concert. from Melodic Rock :
Herbie Herbert - Music Industry legend and Journey’s manager from 1973-1993 interview by Andrew McNeice March 2008, says :
I’ve listened to the record that he has made and the songs that they’ve chosen on this 11 song thing and the performances are very credible. Have you heard it? Yeah I’ve got a copy of that and it’s in my truck. I listened to it and I thought he did a very good job. I gotta tell ya.
from Caveman Productions : Kevin Shirley
Actually, all that was written on the plane to Vegas. Since then…. I’ve recorded Journey live at Planet Hollywood in Vegas on Saturday night, as part of their super-dooper package that’s coming out. The show was great, and I will mix it next week, in stereo and surround, for the DVD that’s part of their special Walmart package. It’s called Revelation, and yes, I really do think it is fantastic! Journey fans have always been the toughest internet people - actually, back in the day I stopped all Journey chat because they get pretty heated and vitriolic - and it’s already started again…… after one U.S. date and only 3 new songs played, there is every kind of criticism being hurled around, from the music relying too much on “the Legacy sound” (I thought you wanted that), to the music being too “rocky” (I thought you wanted that too), to the negative Perry comparisons (well, he ain’t coming back) and JSS (I have never heard him), to the release being on Walmart (who along with Starbucks, are the biggest music retailers in the U.S. now), to my positive comments made during the recording - what do you want people? What exactly is it you would like? Actually, don’t answer please - why not wait ’til you’ve heard it………. enough of that madness already…… OY!
Europe and US tour is up ….. Join the fun, it will be great !
Peace.
March 29, 2008 at 11:27 pm

I told you young and old hooked on Journey & Arnel … grupee na ang labas ng mga Badjao! Counting down for tickets to go on presale tomorrow, 4/4/08, at Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California. Also looking into going back to Vegas for their show at Mandalay Bay. What can we say, Journey + Arnel, just a bad, bad combination. The disease is called “Arnelitis” … he is that good! More power Arnel. Also, a shout out to Noel & Rona, baka magka-kosa siguro tayo eh! Salamat sa efforts mo na ma-exploit si Arnel. By the way, did you ever make it here to see Arnel in concert?
April 4, 2008 at 1:42 pm
For those Filipinos posting their replies;
Guys, I am a Filipino, but I guess we should post our replies in English because there are non-Filipino in this thread.

April 19, 2008 at 12:17 am
I think Arnel is probably a decent chap. But I have to say this no matter how many times I hear his rendition of Faithfully, I just kinda cringe. Having listened to SP singing it I don’t know how any person who grew up listening to the original Faithfully can say this rendition by Arnel is good or even the same. The accent is all off. The enunciation is all off. I think Arnel is a sweet chap. It’s the rest of the old Journey chaps that are trying to squeeze some juice and cash from this shit. Arnel is good and has a great set of pipes but its not suitable for the original Journey sound. Enunciation is everything folks.
April 19, 2008 at 6:28 pm
I’m so proud of you!!!!!! here in milan we are waiting for your european tour concert! MABUHAY KA ARNEL! MABUHAY ANG PINOY!

April 23, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Arnel you’re a testimony of God’s love for those who put their hope in Him. After all what you have been through in your early years God had promoted you BIG TIME!! Hope and pray that you will be drawn even more nearer to Him..remember,PROMOTION COMES FROM ABOVE!! I am so touched with your life and blessed with your voice….so for those who has a critical spirit towards Arnel being the lead singer of Journey..there is nothing you can do about it because he was divinely chosen by God for the job(this is what i believe)…Arnel “YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STREGHTEN YOU”.PHIL 4:13……BE a good role model for all generation…May you glorify LORD JESUS in your life always.
May 1, 2008 at 5:57 pm
great!!!!!!! it is very humble for you to admit that there is only one steve perry!!!! keep up the good work and always put your feet on the ground
May 6, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Critic, stay in the past. That’s where you belong. Enunciation? Hello, when you’re singing, do you really enunciate? Then I must have been deaf and dumb because I never quite got the words to Faithfully when I heard it the first time.
May 9, 2008 at 1:56 am
let’s just enjoy this new guy’s awesome voice & rock energy, shall we? i’m an old SP fan, too. but this new guy is worth listening to and watching. i know you die-hard SP fans feel the need to be loyal. go ahead, that is your choice but the fact that you’re even here talking about this speaks volume of your insecurities. i never liked SA after hearing him once. i never heard of AP until just recently & after watching him on YT, i was blown away by his talent. i never heard of JSDS as well but to be fair, i checked out his rendition of a journey song (i can’t remember what it was) & he didn’t move me. they’re all good singers, but once in a while, someone comes along and just touches you in a special way. SP was one & AP is another. keep on rockin’! i love america, land of the free & the brave.
May 9, 2008 at 3:45 am
Lorna I presume you are a Filipino. Well, I think Arnel Pineda is talented no doubt about that. I think Jesus has put him where he is and I am happy for him. I just made an objective comment that the accent was off. If you want to flog me on enunciation, here’s what I mean. The Filipinos pronounce F as P. So faithfully becomes paytpooly and forever becomes poreber. That’s what I meant. I find your tone sarcastic and while I hope Arnel does well, you are probably deaf and dumb and should indeed take English and enunciation lessons. If you notice my comment was never even once critical of Arnel. I just made an objective comment about accent and why after listening to the original I can’t just warm up to AP’s rendition. I do belong in the past as Journey’s other members are just nakedly trying to cash in and are now a karaoke act. Again God Bless Arnel
May 9, 2008 at 3:58 am
I thought I should post a follow up comment. Just dont think I am racist. We are all different and sound different. The Scottish sound different, the Indians sound different and the Chinese sound different and the Yanks sound different. All I am saying is that I have listened to Faithfully for the past 18 years and I hope you can all understand that after 18 years of being programmed to a certain tone and sound, something else would be difficult to get used to. I love the Filipinos and Arnel’s early life story and struggle is indeed a show that his promotion came from the Lord Jesus. Anyways bands always do this like the Eagles coming out to hawk old stuff. The problem is not Arnel but Neal Schon. Please don’t misunderstand me my dear Filipino brothers and sisters, I love you all. I guess I am just having difficultly adjusting to the new voice. Not that it makes a difference as for me Journey died the moment SP left the band.
May 12, 2008 at 9:55 am
Critic, we love you too!
May 14, 2008 at 2:14 am
Critic, first of all, I didn’t hear anything off with AP’s “enunciation” of Faithfully. Never did I hear the F pronounced as P in his rendition. Could it be that you were looking for things because you knew he was from the Philippines and you knew how certain letters are pronounced there? The fact that you’ve been listening to this song for the past 18 years doesn’t necessarily make you an objective listener. In fact, it makes you just the opposite because like you said, you’ve been “programmed to a certain tone and sound “. This makes you prejudiced to another. If you had heard SP sing for the first time, then AP, I doubt that you would hear anything different in the sound, tone, & “enunciation” My belief is that you already had preset ideas of what you wanted to hear. The problem is not with Neal, the problem is with people that are negative. They always find something wrong where there might not be any, see the glass half-empty rather than half-full. By the way, I am Filipino, Filipino-AMERICAN, mind you. I’m not deaf and dumb and my enunciation is perfect. But I can tell you’re British, oh, just by the words you use. Oops, sarcasm again, my biggest setback…. I love you just the same, brother.

Lorna, I am sincerely sorry if my comments hurt you. I am really happy for Arnel. I reacted defensively to your comments and I should not have. Again my apologies. God Bless and when I say I love the Filipinos I really meant it. It used to tickle me when this filipino girl i knew pronounced F as P and I was not being condescending in fact the cute accent did bring many funny and cheerful moments for us :))

Nuff said. What I wanted to know is why didn’t Arnel/Journey perform “Send Her My Love” which is one of my favorites or did I miss something??? (Couldn’t find it in the clips.)

I need to read more about his life growing up. Its very inspiring from where he came from and how he survive and prosper. One in a billion chance to be where he is at. I want to read about Arniel’s past and in detail. A movie about this guy will be awesome. His struggles and where he is now. The movie will be a tear jerker and inspiring at the same time. Wow. Even though the system of government is messed up at home, there is still few people that gets out of a bad system. More power to all Filipinos.
