If Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are shutting down the live gigs after 30 years together, that would be a shame. Granted, after 30 years, I’m sure the road takes it’s toll. Looks like a new album, a documentary on the band, and a tour will happen this Summer. Looks like we have to catch the band before they stop.
I’ve seen the band twice:
1. One of the best shows I ever saw was on the Wildflowers tour. A brilliant 3 hour show!
2. One of the WORST shows I’ve ever seen was on the Echo tour with Jackson Browne opening. All I remember was a cold spring drizzle on the lawn at the Tweeter Center (Mansfield, MA) and being bored to death by Jackson Browne…..add an hour set change…..and a sub-par 2 hour Petty set = bad concert experience. The band was not at their best that night.
I’ll go to the show if the tix are decently priced. If I have to pay over $50 for a seat under the roof, I might forget it.
