New Saxon album and DVD due in 2007.

From Bravewords:

SPV/Steamhammer will release NWOBHM legends SAXON’s new studio album, THE INNER SANCTUM, on March 5th, 2007. Available on the same date will be Saxon’s new double live DVD, entitled TO HELL AND BACK AGAIN. More details on both releases to follow.

In regards to their new studio album, Saxon frontman Biff Byford recently stated, “On the next album we’re trying to make a massive effort to target England, to bring the profile back up, and we have been approached to make a documentary as part of this. It is not a reality show. The concert in Lincoln was part of the documentary, there will be many other things happening, as soon as we can tell people what’s happening you’ll be the first to know.”

Looks like March 5, 2007 is going to be a great day already! Saxon has made some truly great albums since 1997’s UNLEASH THE BEAST and their CHRONICLES DVD (2000) is superb. If they continue down the same path they have for the last 10 years, no one will be disappointed.

  1. First i didnt realy liked LIONHEART but now i do (took me a long time). Its much better then METALHEAD in my opinión. I hope their next album sound again more like FOREVER FREE and SOLID BALL OF ROCK, two of my fave SAXON albums from the 90s.

  2. Lionheart was a fine album, if they stay in this direction, Saxon will be at the top of my 2007 list.

Rene – Forever Free is one of my favorite Saxon albums: ‘Iron Wheels’, ‘Forever Free’…..great tunes.

  3. saxon should team up with their old chum, knight of the realm -sir elton john and record a new version of dallas 1pm as a tribute to princess diana and call it paris 1am.

  4. Have the photos of that tasty bit o’ blart (with her foot in a cast no less!)washing biff’s car while he looks on drink in hand surfaced on the internet yet?
