Weekend Playlist – 9/2/07

Here’s what I’m listening to this weekend:

  • 3 Inches Of Blood – Fire Up The Blades (2007): This is a seriously good album. I like the NWOBHM influence.
  • Joe Lynn Turner – Second Hand Life (2007): JLT has to be one of the smoothest Rock vocalists of all time. The man can flat out sing! If this were released anytime between 1981 and 1986, it would have been HUGE!
  • KISS – Asylum (1985): One of the forgotten ’80s KISS albums that only diehards enjoy…..but they released 3 singles/videos and they did well.
  • The Doors – The Doors (1967): Has it really been 40 years since this debut?
  • Heaven & Hell – Live At Radio City Music Hall (2007): I can’t get enough of Dio-era Sabbath, this was such a great live show.
  • Scorpions – Humanity Hour 1 (2007): Can’t go wrong with a new Scorpions record.
  • Scorpions – Blackout (1982): Can’t go wrong with a Scorpions classic, a Metal classic!
  • Peter Criss – Criss Cat #1 (1994): A much better album than the new one, IMO. At least it’s a Rock album.
  • .38 Special – Special Forces (1982): I like good ol’ Southern Rock…..
  • Axel Rudi Pell – Mystica (2006): I’ve been listening to this CD on and off for about a year. It’s good but it doesn’t stick with me…..I like it but I don’t understand why I’m not getting into it like I should with a solid record.

  1. Great playlist. What nice to read your opinion about each album Steve. I agree with ASYLUM, FIRE UP THE BLADES, SECOND HAND LIFE and those SCORPIONS albums.
About 38 SPECIAL i have only the AOR´is STRENGTH IN NUMBERS. I realy have to buy more of that band. I love BLACKFOOT. Do you like them Steve????
I like AXEL RUDI PELL Steve too. Maybe you should stop listening to MYSTICA for one year and then try it again. Sometimes it works.
Never cared about THE DOORS but i saw them live with the CULT singer because my girlfriend wanted to see them. I was realy bored ha ha ha.
